Heart disease or cardiopathy is a grouping of different heart diseases and conditions of functional or structural disorders affecting the heart which include cardiomyopathy, cardiovascular disease, coronary heart disease, heart failure, hypertensive heart disease, Inflammatory heart disease, ischaemic heart disease and valvular heart disease


The causes of heart disorders and disease differ by type of heart disease. Cardiomyopathy, a disorder of the heart muscle enlarging or thickening, results in a weakened and structural change in heart muscle. Cardiovascular disease of heart and blood vessels commonly caused by the disorder of atherosclerosis, a buildup of fatty plaques in arteries, may restrict blood flow to organs and tissues causing hardening of the arteries. Heart arrhythmias can be caused by congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, Diabetes, drug abuse, high blood pressure, smoking, medications, stress and valvular heart disease.
